A day with me

Blog-tember Day 20's prompt is to share a day in your life.

Okay so the plan yesterday was to take pictures all day of what I typically do in a day but I forgot till about 4 in the afternoon.  I then decided to try something and blog all day today as I go.  So, I will be updating this post every so often.

Hope you join me along for the ride!

This morning I unhooked from my Dialysis machine.

Typically after I unhook from my machine I head to the kitchen for some breakfast, brush my teeth and get ready.
Breakfast today was a bit much but good an worth the full tummyness. It was a blackberry jam crescent, waffle with homemade whipped cream and a pancake. Eggs didn't make it on plate or picture.

Now ready and headed car shopping with dad-in-law. This isn't a typical Saturday activity. Usually we just hang out go for a hike or watch movies.

I want one!!!

It is now 3:56 PM pacific time. We spent 2 hrs at the dealership with my dad-in-law but he was able to drive off with a 2010 5series BMW. it's nice and I want one. Now I'm at apple bees going to enjoy a steak.
They have these cool little tablets with games.

I had a 7 oz. steak with mash potatoes and mixed veggies.  It was good.  I wish I had a picture to show you but I was too hungry and forgot to take a picture.  I really need to get better at taking pictures to share on here.  Hehehe

Now I am home and just watching baseball for now.  It is 5:00 PM pacific time.

The rest of tonight wasn't too excited had a sandwich for dinner and just hang out with a couple of friends talking about stuff.  Overall it was a pretty easy going day.  My weeks are completely different.  I am usually in and out of doctors office and that can be boring.

No I am ready to hook up to my dialysis machine again.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a great night.

Blogtember Advice

Wow it is already the 19th of September, I feel as though yesterday was barely the beginning of summer and now we are strolling into fall.  I remember being in High School and older people saying “the older we get the faster time flies by” and I didn’t really understand what they meant till now because it’s true.   Each year seems to go by faster and faster, I feel like I may even skip a few years without even realizing it.

Okay, getting back to Blogtember, today’s prompt is “If you could give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would it be?”

What would I say to a large group of people?  I guess I would say the title of my blog, which is to take life One Day at a Time.  We can plan and plan but ultimately we do not know what tomorrow holds for us.  So take it one day at a time and enjoy every single moment.  It doesn’t matter if you’re going through a hard time or good time.  Each daily experience in your life will mold and shape your tomorrow so make the best of today.  Enjoy the moments you have with your family and friends.  Appreciate them even when they may drive you crazy and all you want to do is shake them silly or strangle them.  Stop and smell the roses a few times out of the day.  Forget about those material things that you sometimes think you need, you really don’t need them.  In society today we are always on the go and our attention span as a whole is super short.  I challenge you to slow down and embrace your days.

If you have big dreams of a career or anything else each day try and take a step closer in accomplishing that dream and if you don’t manage to do it that one day it’s ok there will hopefully be more days.  Don’t be scared to try something and to fail at it.  It’s ok tomorrow is a new day and more opportunities will come.  I’m a dreamer constantly dreaming up goals and for a long time I was scared to try at them.  Why? Because I didn’t want to fail but I know I realize that even if I would have failed at least I would have tried.  So, take life One Day at a Time because it is just too short to let it flash before your eyes.  Be thankful for every breath that God has blessed you with.

That’s what I would say; it’s not this long list, just short and sweet.  I used to live in tomorrow but life’s punches has put me in a realization that I needed to just live one day at a time today and enjoy each and everyone of those days.  I wish that if I were to advice a large group of people that this short message would be of benefit to them.

The Big Apple

I failed on yesterday's prompt to be brave and vlog.  It's not that I didn't want to do it, I did, I just had no free time alone to do it.  I guess I could have done it in front of people but that I don't think I am brave enough to do so I'm hoping to redeem myself and do a vlog on the 1st of October.

Moving along, today's prompt is to tell a tale of traveling.

I have not had the fortune of traveling around to many places but the places I have been have been really pretty.  In the summer of 2005 when I was 18 I got to Make a Wish with the Make a Wish Foundation.  My wish was to go to New York City.  If you haven't read any of my earlier posts you don't know I have a kidney disease which is considered life threatening.  I am currently on Dialysis and awaiting a kidney transplant.

NYC was and continues to be a favorite location for me.  The night before we were schedule to leave I couldn't sleep, I couldn't believe I was actually going to New York.  Once my mom, my sister and I were on the plane I still couldn't contain my excitement.  When we arrived it was late but I was in disbelief that I was actually there.  Exiting the airport there was a chauffeur holding a card with my name on it and he escorted us to the limo.  I felt like an important person, almost like a celebrity.  We arrived at our hotel and they wouldn't let us check in because we arrived late and they had given our room away (boo).  So, they sent us to another hotel for the night which was a little dingy but it was not bad.  The next day we headed back to The Park Central Hotel and got a room.  The room was nice nothing super elegant since they were going through renovations throughout the hotel but it was nicer compared to the hotel the previous night.

The first day there we were scheduled to see the Broadway play RENT.  I had no idea what that play was about but at the moment I was wishing they would have sent us to Fiddler on the Roof instead.  We headed out to have some lunch in Time Square since we were really close (that was so amazing) and then flagged down a cab to take us to our play.  I don't remember which street we were on but the cab was not needed because he took us to the next street and we were there, we laughed and laughed because we were so close and not once did we think to look at a map or ask for directions.  I wish the cabbie would have said something but why would he, I'm sure he didn't mind making $3 lol.  Once in the theatre we realized we had front row seats.  It was a little intimidating because of the eye-contact I was embarrassed and kept catching myself look down.  The play was a little much for me but it was okay and overall had a good time.

After that we walked around Time Square some more even rode on the double decker tourist bus.  We got to see Ground Zero, the Empire State building, the Chrysler building and so much more for the next two days.  I looked for my picture but I think they are at my moms house so here are some pictures I got off the internet.

The last full day in NYC we got to go see the Statue of Liberty and she is so big.  The history all over NYC is just amazing.  The struggle that people went through for a better tomorrow and now we live in a society that in my opinion is lazy and unappreciative.

I am bummed I don't get to share my photos but when I get them I will definitely update this blog post.  I am so thankful to Make a Wish Foundation, without this organization I and many other children in the past, present and future would perhaps not ever have their wishes fulfilled.  This was an experience that I will never forget and I hope to be able to go back to The Big Apple once again and hopefully more then once.

Ya didn't even know

This is day 16 of the Blogtember Challenge and day two for me :)
The prompt for today is sharing stuff people do not know about you.

Most people don't know this but...

//I can't sleep without light and quiet noise in the background.

//Secretly I want to be a fashion designer/Makeup artist/Stylist/Bag Designer
(wow, I want to do it all)

//I like to stand in front of the mirror and sing with my comb in hand.  I think a lot of us do this.

//I'm working on a romantic/comedy novel.  Three chapters down and many more to go.

//I have an addiction to school supplies.  Such as pens, pencils, notebooks, journals, graph paper, crayons and etc.  I like it all.  I think I should become a teacher!  Except, kids can be annoying many times.

I tried to think of more stuff but I was drawing a blank.

Blogtember Challenge shall begin

Okay, so I seem to be starting this challenge half-way through the month.  I thought that by the 1st of September life would have slowed down a little but I was wrong hence I'm starting this challenge 15 days late.  I hope that is okay and I'm forgiven lol.

The September 15th prompt is to make a mood board.  This is my current mood state.

//About a week ago I got a haircut, I got 14 inches chopped off by my cosmetologist sister and she gave me a LOB (long bob).  It is taking me a while to get used to it and learn how to style it.  I was scared but it seems to be working out well and people seem to really like it.  I have a lot of hair so my  hair was really heavy and now I feel so light.

//The picture next to Ashley Greene is of a Bookcase, I am thinking about painting the bookcases I have and decorating them in a vintage yet modern way.

//Next is a quote that I enjoy very much by C.S. Lewis and though I may slightly disagree with that statement when it comes to certain books, it's a great quote.  My mood with that picture depicts my desire and need to read more books and study more of my bible so that I may continue to grow in my relationship with Christ.

//Then you will see a living room, desk area, bedroom and bathroom storage.  I am and have been in the mood of re-decorating those areas of my home.  At the moment the desk has become a junk table and I feel the need to organize it and clean it up.  My living room is just so bland and I would really like to revamp it up a bit.  The bathroom has little to no storage so I need to figure out what I can do with the space I have.  Lastly, the bedroom!  We need a new bed and curtains and so much more.  At the moment it is very bland too.

I think I will title this mood board CHANGE because I am going through a season of change right now.  I had the same hair style since 2002 and was so comfortable with it I didn't want to change it but I finally did it and I like it.  Change in my life walk with God and wanting to put more effort into our relationship because I realize that I need him all the time not just when times are tough.  Ending with my home and attempting to make it more organized and cozy for my family, a place for us to rest and relax with each other and friends without clutter.

It was fun working on this prompt I hope to be able to do the rest of the 15 prompts in the coming days.  Fingers crossed.

Thank you for stopping by, hope you make your way back and I hope you have a blessed and beautiful week.
