BUCKET LIST // BLOG-TEMBER DAY 10

Today I am feeling a lot under the weather.  I have a 100 degree fever it went down .6 point so that is good.  I didn't want to do anything but I have been on a roll I couldn't skip today post.

September 10: 10 things off bucket list.

Brave Love Blog

This prompt is a bit difficult because my bucket list has changed significantly in the past 5 years.

In High School I had this extended bucket list.  I wanted to go straight to an IV League school, get a Business Admin. degree and go on to Law school.  After that I wanted to be a corporate lawyer and make my way into politics.  My ultimate Goal was to be President.  I wanted to live in NYC and travel all over the world.

My Bucket List now is a bit more simple or so I think it is.

1. Get a kidney transplant

2. Travel all over Europe making my way to the Mediterranean

3. Read the whole Bible in less then a year

4. Finish my Novel

5. Back to NYC after transplant

6. Watch the Phantom of the Opera live

7. Travel around the U.S

8. This might seem odd but get a genealogy test done

9. Read at least two books a month.  My reading has been limited.

10. Own business

That is my list.  Hopefully within the next two years I am able to complete at least 5 of those things.

Do you have a list?  What is on it?

Thanks for stopping by
I hope you are having a great day

DEAR LILY // BLOG-TEMBER DAY 9

Before starting this post I patted myself on the back because I have completed one whole week of the blog-tember challenge and look forward the rest of the weeks to come.
Brave Love Blog

September 9:  prompt is to write a letter to sixteen-year-old you. Any advice or funny stories?

This was a little harder then I had expected because of the kidney disease my memory isn't quite what it used to be so here we go.

Dear 16 year-old Lily,

16 is such an awesome age.  You finally get to get your license but if you let your permit expire you'll end up getting it a lot later then you expect so get on to taking you behind the wheel test.

Ok, so I know you are smart and you have a pretty good head on your shoulders but I have to tell you something, You don't know EVERYTHING.  You think you know a lot and admit you don't know everything but you sometimes act like you know everything.  In reality though, you don't and it's okay,  it is not a big deal, you're only 16.

You know how Vivian and Lizzy keep inviting you to church?  A church that is not a Catholic church?  Well, you should go with them and see how you like it but go with an open mind not with prejudice, you might end up liking it.  God may just be calling, don't ignore him or turn your back on him you're not as close to him as you think and you don't really know him as well as you think.  Know that Jesus loves you!

You're going to be walking to art class one day and you will trip ripping your pants right where you're knee is.  You'll look around and think no one saw you but one person who walks in the class after you did.  He'll ask if you are ok, you'll want to pretend like nothing happened but it did so just laugh and say yes.  Don't be embarrassed  just laugh it off, it will be pretty funny.

Another funny thing you, Lana and Ariel are going to be walking to lunch and Lana will trip and pretend she blacked out.  Don't laugh at her and tell her just to say the truth.  Just play along, she will be embarrassed enough, don't make it worse.

Now, you will experience a loss of a new but good friend.  You'll end up not going to prom.  You'll mourn their death and be okay but your childhood friend her best friend, needs you.  Be there for her even when she pushes you away.

Continue to work hard at school and continue to be active with extra curricular activities.  Get Ariel involved because she wants to be she just doesn't know it yet.  Oh, and when things don't work out quite like you planned, it is okay, just be flexible and keep moving ahead.

Finally, drink your medicine!  I know you don't feel anything with the kidneys, you feel fine but you do have kidney disease and yes, you are right God will take care of you but you have to trust him.  I know you are not ready for a transplant, tell your doctors.  Let your doctors know why, have them educate you and tell you everything you can possibly know so that if you do need to get the transplant  now or in the future you'll be prepared enough to deal with it and it won't come down on you like a ton of bricks all at once.  Don't be scared.

Everything will be ok, have FAITH IN THE LORD AND ALLOW HIM IN SO THAT HE MAY LEAD YOU.

So, enjoy and take life one day at a time.

Love,

          You

I think I got the important stuff out.  16 year-old me and 28 year-old me are still a tad bit the same with a few positive and mature changes.  I wish I had pictures but they are about 2 hrs away from me.  I may update this post after I have some photos in hand.  I don't look much different.  I sometimes feel as though I am aging much slower then some of my fellow classmates.  I don't mind it.

Thank for stopping by.

I hope you have a fantastic day

FALL INTO BLOG-TEMBER DAY 8

“He made the moon to mark the seasons;
the sun knows its time for setting.”
Psalm 104:19 ESV

September 8: prompt is to talk about our favorite season.  Why it is our favorite season and what it says about us.  I thought about this long and hard and I came to the conclusion that I like all the seasons but fall and winter are my two most favorite and next are spring and summer.

FALL
Fall is such a beautiful season.  The orange, reds, yellows and subtle greens.  The change in the weather where the summer heat slowly begins to dissipate and cooler weather makes an appearance.  The nice sweaters make their way out of your closet and are just cozy enough to keep you comfy.  I grew up in the Central Valley of California where the summer heat ranged from 95 degrees to 115 degrees any given day.  So when fall came I was a happy camper.  CRUNCHY leaves were and are still my favorite to step on and here the crackle of the leaf beneath the sole of my shoe.  Just thinking about it makes me giddy lol.

WINTER

Oh winter I feel as if I haven't seen you in years and come to think of it I haven't seen you in about four years.  I miss you winter, come back we need some rain!  Sorry, I was having a moment, if you haven't heard California is in a drought.  Winter is also an absolute second favorite.  The cold can be irritating but nothing a hot coffee or tea can't fix along with a nice warm home and possibly a fire going.  I like the rain and wearing my rain coat with my rain boots or just looking out the window again with a cup of coffee or tea starring at the rain fall.  I like heading to the mountains and seeing the snow especially as it is falling.  Catching the snowflakes you see the beauty and wonder of God.  It amazes me that every flake is different, just like out fingerprints.

What do these two seasons say about me?
Well, I think they say that I like to wear sweaters and coats.  Yes, that's it I like to wear sweaters when it's a little nippy outside.  I like to snuggle in my nice heavy coat when it is really cold with a nice warm scarf and beanie.  Fall and winter clothes are my favorite.

I like spring and summer too they each have special things to offer.  In spring you have the flowers blooming the grass is green and the weather is perfect.  Summer is also nice but not in 100 degree weather.  It makes it hard to want to be outside doing anything.
                                              Spring                                                  Summer

The picture to the bottom right in the summer collage are tomatoes and you may wonder why I have tomatoes in there.  Where I grew up there were tomato fields and every summer you could smell the tomatoes.  When I was younger the smell would bother me but now it is nostalgic.

Brave Love Blog

Those are my favorite seasons.  I now live in the Central Coast of California where the weather is always beautiful and the nights get cold.  You don't really get to see the seasons very much or experience them.  Good thing I go home to my Mom's often.

What is your favorite season?  What do you like the most about the seasons?

ONE DAY AT A TIME // BLOG-TEMBER DAY 7

Matthew 6:31-34 most definitely one of my favorite Bible verses.

September 7: prompt is to talk about the blog name and tell where it came from.

I chose that title because this life is short and since we have no control over tomorrow we should just take it "One Day at a Time" letting our focus be Jesus Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us and work through us so that we may spread his love and the Word (Gospel).
As humans we have a tendency to worry and it is understandable.  I worry sometimes too but I have relied heavily on the verse above Matthew 6:31-34 because it is so true 34"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself..."

Also knowing that God has us covered, he has our backs and he will not forsake us.  Our Lord knows what we need and he will provide.  So I say, take life One Day at a Time, dwell with the Lord and let him work through you.

I used to be stubborn about tomorrow!  I wanted to plan everything and stick to it because when I didn't I felt like a failure.  Out of High School I had the next 5 years of my life planned out and when it didn't go as I planned, I was bummed.  I felt like I couldn't achieve anything, I felt unintelligent and was lost.  I then got sick (my story is here) and God opened my eyes and through a process he changed my heart and made me new.

I take life One Day at a Time now.  I am present, I enjoy every moment.   I have a peace that is beautiful.  Do I sometimes let worry about tomorrow get to me?  Yes, after all I am human and I do worry about money, bills, and where I will be a few years from now.  I always go back to scripture though and my worry subsides.

So take life One Day at a Time and I don't mean don't plan anything tomorrow or further in the future, no.  I simply mean to enjoy this day you are in and be flexible if tomorrow doesn't turn out the way you planned.

Indeed "This is the day that the Lord has made;..."  I hope that I was able to convey to you the reason why I chose my blog title.

Changing the subject a little, I am so proud of myself once more.  I have been posting and have not missed a day.  This is exciting for me usually craziness happens when I plan on blogging for a certain period of time but this time craziness happened but I still had time.  I am committed and I am and just taking it one day at a time :)

I ♥ FASHION // BLOG-TEMBER DAY 6

Coco Chanel had it right, simple pieces can sometimes be the most elegant.  Ralph Lauren is a designer I have been a fan of for some time now and I like what he said because it too is true.

September 6: prompt share your style.  What fashion trends you love, frequent or avoid.

Brave Love Blog

I am a big fan of fashion, however, it does not mean that I am a big fan of all fashion and all fashion that is trending.  Such as booty shorts and Birkenstock sandals to name a couple.  Some people absolutely love those but I am not a fan since the 90's.  I just feel like they Birkenstocks are not aesthetically appealing to me.  If you like them and wear them that is awesome.  I hear they are very comfortable I just personally don't like them, same goes for Crocs.  Please don't hate me!  When it comes to the booty shorts I just don't understand that fashion trend at all, but then again I am very modest.

Let's move on to fashion that Frequent.  When I started working on this post I was looking online and found an overflow of photos and items that I like.  I then realized that it was way too much a bit much.  So, I am sticking with items that I mostly go for.

Photos are from Pinterest
//Chunky necklaces are a hands down no questions asked favorite.  They are a great statement peace and dress up and dressy outfit or casual outfit.  I am a fan!

//I absolutely adore riding boots!  I am excited for some cold weather so I can get back to wearing them and wearing them with plaid.

//Plaid shirts are a fav too.  I think they are so pretty and you can wear them all the time.  You can dress them up and dress them down.

//Same goes for denim button up shirts.  Another trend that I am liking but I think denim shirts never go out of style.

//As well as blazers, I have been obsessed with blazer since I was in high school I feel like so many blazers out there are timeless and never go out of style.  A few of my blazer I still wear and I adore them.

//Boyfriend jeans are pretty awesome too but when they are in overall boyfriend jean style too, the awesome factor gets a little higher.

//Most of the time I am a jeans, t-shirt and converse kind of gal.  I am all about comfort and I like to dress up my converse too.

//Lastly FLATS!!!  I have been a fan of flats for the longest time.  I own all three of those ballet flats in the picture.  The brand is by Jessica Simpson and not only are they cute but comfortable.  I like heels too but they are not as comfortable.  The rose gold Tieks flats are on my with list.  I have always been a fan of rose gold but it seems like it has recently become way more popular.  When I saw those Tieks flats I said, "I want those" and then I saw the price and remembered that they are pricey, so I have to face the fact that it will be a while till I can splurge on a pair or two, hopefully more. *tear*

Are any of these apparel pieces things you wear, like, or dislike?

Thanks for stopping by
Hope you have a beautiful Sunday with God's love surrounding you
