Hello Saturday, I don't want to do anything today.  Today is going to be a busy day and I still don't know everything that I will be doing.  I hope everything flows smoothly.

September 26: What's on your to-reading list, and what have you recently read?

  1. Dancing Through Life by Candace Cameron Bure.  I am very interested in reading this book and seeing what Candace has to say about being in Hollywood and maintaining a biblical standard of living.
  2. Embracing Myself Now by Shawneda.  This book was handed to me by a friend just yesterday actually this is what the back of the cover says, "Dani wants to love the new woman she has become. Just can't convince her heart, soul and destroyed womb to accept the dreams she's had since childhood may never come true. Jenessa's life was turned upside down by triple negative breast cancer. Keeping it right side up may cost her the identity she's fought to protect for years. Dominique helped her mother face and conquer their past. Now anger and fear threaten her hope for the future. Despair and dread have picked their next prey, Vivian. She has no idea her new sisters in the struggle to defeat breast cancer will help her find an anchor beyond their support group's normal therapy. These four women are discovering it's hard letting go of what was when you never expected what life has become."  It sounds really interesting I am excited to dig in to it and explore.
  3. Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee.  This one is easy it is by Harper Lee that should explain it.  Lol... To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books and I am so excited to read this one.  I have heard some really good things about it.

  1. Who Do You Think You Are? Finding Your True Identity in Christ by Mark Driscoll.  This is a great read!  Mark Driscoll really digs in to find your identity in Christ and not what the world tells you find it in.
  2. HOLINESS The Heart God Purifies by Nancy Leigh.  What does it mean to be holy?  And are we capable of reaching holiness?  This is a great read.  She goes into things that she has seen in the church and people in her life and how some people become so complacent to sin.  She also digs into staying in the word and being in the world but not of the world.
  3. Breaking the Islam Code by J.D. Greear.   This book was given to me by a friend and I read it.  It contains a lot of really helpful information when that will be useful when trying to share Christ with a muslim.  If you have someone in your life who is a muslim and you want to share Christ with them I recommend picking up this book
  1. The One & Only by Emily Giffin.  I just started reading this book and Wednesday and haven't gotten so far but here is what the back cover says, "In her eagerly awaited new novel, beloved New York Times bestselling author Emily Giffin returns with an extraordinary story of love and loyalty—and an unconventional heroine struggling to reconcile both. Thirty-three-year-old Shea Rigsby has spent her entire life in Walker, Texas—a small college town that lives and dies by football, a passion she unabashedly shares. Raised alongside her best friend, Lucy, the daughter of Walker’s legendary head coach, Clive Carr, Shea was too devoted to her hometown team to leave. Instead she stayed in Walker for college, even taking a job in the university athletic department after graduation, where she has remained for more than a decade.  But when an unexpected tragedy strikes the tight-knit Walker community, Shea’s comfortable world is upended, and she begins to wonder if the life she’s chosen is really enough for her. As she finally gives up her safety net to set out on an unexpected path, Shea discovers unsettling truths about the people and things she has always trusted most—and is forced to confront her deepest desires, fears, and secrets."  This is her newest Novel.  I have read the rest and they are worth a read, you should check them out here.

That is it, these are the books I want to read, have recently read and not reading.  Sometimes I'll read two sometimes even three books at the same time to keep my brain exercising but not this time.  I am giving myself a little rest.  Are any of these books on your to-read or have-read list?

Friday already?  Wasn't it just Monday?  Wow, time flies when you are having fun.  This weekend should be exciting, I have a baby shower to go to on Saturday and church on Sunday.

September 25: Three songs you are connecting with right now.

When I saw this prompt I thought, "This is easy!" then I got to thinking of the songs I wanted to choose.  I reached for my notebook and began jotting down songs that I am connecting with right now and before I knew it I had a long list with way more then 3 songs but worry not, I was able to narrow my list down and choose some great songs.

  • God's Not Dead by Newsboys:  This is an awesome song and always gets me pumped.  Have you watched the movie God's Not Dead?  You should it is pretty good a little to dramatic but I guess movies have to be, right?  I like the line "my God's not dead he's surely alive he's living on the inside roaring like a lion."  It is a great song!
  • We Believe by Newsboys:  Two Newsboys songs because well I am digging the music.  I have been a fan of theirs for some time now and their music is so up lifting.  The lyrics are awesome, "In this time of desperation, when all we know is doubt and fear, there is only one foundation, We believe, we believe.  We believe in God the Father.  We believe in Jesus Christ.  We believe in the Holy Spirit.  And He's given us new life.  We believe in the Crucifixion.  We believe that He conquered death. We believe in the resurrection and He's coming back again.  We believe.  So, let our faith be more than anthems.  Greater than the songs we sing and in our weakness and temptations we believe, we believe...  Let the lost be found and the dead be raised in the here and now.  Let love invade. Let the church live loud.  Our God we'll say, we believe, we believe and the gates of Hell will not prevail, for the power of God has torn the veil.  Now we know your love will never fail.  We believe, we believe" Those lyrics are powerful.  WE BELIEVE!
  • Even So come by Passion (ft. Chris Tomlin): This song gives me the chills every single time and I almost cry.  It's so touching!  The lyrics are powerful saying, "All of creation, all of the earth, make straight a highway, a path for the Lord, Jesus is coming soon.  Call back the sinner.  Wake up the saint.  Let every nation shout of Your fame.  Jesus is coming soon.  Like a bride waiting for her groom.  We'll be a Church ready for You, every heart longing for our King, we sing, even so come Lord Jesus, come... There will be justice.  All will be new.  Your name forever, faithful and true, Jesus is coming soon... So we wait, we wait for you.  God, we wait you're coming soon..."  We are certainly waiting aren't we?
These three songs are amazing!  They each glorify His name as it should be.  Do you like these songs? Yes, no?

Yesterday was a busy day and to top it off I got a flu shot.  After I get a flu shot I feel so tired, I know that is a minor symptom (I read it in a paper they gave me because I was feeling fatigued) so I felt pretty sluggish after 2 p.m but I still had to help my college freshmen niece and her friend with math and humanities homework, and that took a couple hours.  After that I took my Mom Grocery shopping and that took about an hour.  Once we got to my Mom's I helped with dinner and then I was finally able to veg out and watch some Girl Meets World.  I ended up hooking up to my dialysis machine at 9 laid in bed and fell asleep so quick.  Woke up this morning still feeling tired but nothing a nice cup of coffee cant fix.

September 24 Shout out five of your favorite bloggers. Who are your regular reads?

This was a little tough, there are so many great bloggers that I frequently read and now with this blog-tember challenge I have found some new great bloggers to add to my blog-read-roll.

I thought about going into detail as to why I like each blogger but I think you should click on their picture and check them out for yourself and I am sure you will automatically now why I like to read they blogs.  These women are lovely and they are so encouraging and helpful to new and seasoned bloggers.  If you don't know who they are you should definitely check them out.

Happy hump day!

SEPTEMBER 23: Grab a guest post. Recruit a friend or fellow blogger to share on
your space for the day.

I complete overlooked this prompt and didn't plan ahead of time like I should have.  So, today you still have me writing to you.  I thought about just skipping today and not posting anything but I couldn't.  I had to post, it didn't feel right skipping because I have been doing so well posting everyday this month.  Yay me!

I like to take pictures of clouds and the beach and just basically landscape.  I decided to share a few pictures that I have taken this year and had to share with you.

This picture was taken the the Central Valley of California
I was driving and I had to stop in the middle of nowhere to take this picture.  Look at the clouds, how glorious are they?  God is amazing and it literally blows my mind to think that this is just a glimpse.

These two photos top and bottom are taken in Southern California at Point Mugu a few miles north of Malibu.  It was cold and I was shaky but I managed to get these two great photos.  Once again you see clouds.  Clouds are my favorite!!!

You're probably going to think 'clouds again?' but yes clouds again.  I was driving again and the sky was looking awesome that I had to snap a picture.  I was on the 101 highway in Atascadero, CA.

Here this sunset is beautiful I believe this was in Newport beach I don't really remember.
Beautiful right?

This picture was taken from my friends terrace in Cayuco, CA.
I am jealous I don't get this view everyday.

Hahaha... again me driving, this time going
West on the 41 state highway heading back to the Central Coast.

What do you think?  Do you take pictures when you're on the road?

I can't believe there are only 7 days left in September that means blog-tember
challenge time is almost over! :(

What a morning!  I am functioning on about 3 hours of sleep.  My dialysis machine decided to keep me up all night and part of the morning.  I called technical support and they weren't able to help at first but then I called again and the second time around the technician was able to help me and machine began to work as usual and at about 4 am, I was so happy to get back to sleep.

September 22: Get creative! Sketch, paint, dance, play music, whatever then give us a glimpse.

Brave Love Blog

I was thinking of what to be creative with all weekend.  I thought of maybe doing writing a quote on a canvas and painting over it with watercolors.  Then, I thought maybe I can get started on paining my night stand but I obviously didn't choose those.  I figured since every Sunday I decorate my planner for the coming week I may as well document with photos and show a glimpse of my creativity skills which I feel are growing and aren't fully shown in this post but maybe in the near or far future.  I don't know!

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves I wanted to show it step by step and explain it but I didn't want to bombard you with reading the obvious.

Do you have a planner and have you gotten into the new thing of decorating it?

Thanks for stopping by
I hope you have a beautiful day!

Monday, September 21, 2015

Yay, it is Monday and this has been a busy day already.  I had three doctors appointments today and of course I woke up late this morning but I made it to my appointment on time.

September 21: A favorite quote/expression and how it has impacted you.

I couldn't just pick one quote I had to pick three.

C.S. Lewis' story is a great one, going from a non-believer to a believer.  He was and continues to be a big contribution to literature for believers.  If you have not read Mere Christianity you should it is really good and I learned a lot from it.  I like this quote because it is so true and makes complete sense.  When I first read this quote in a book I can't seem to remember in College I didn't really understand it but now I do and I agree.  We all want to progress and move forward but if we are going the wrong way we are not progressing until we go back and begin to head in the right direction.

Psalms is a good book in the bible full of amazing inspiration and encouragement.  This quote has been a favorite since 2004 when a friend showed it to me.  But I had a different understanding of it, a more selfish understanding.  I now I know what it truly means to delight in the Lord and by delighting in him your heart's desires are for him and desires he's put on our heart..

This one is one I go to often.  I have a hard time obeying the Lord when he wants me to share him with other in certain situations and I have to remember this quote.  To be strong and courageous because he has a purpose for me and a purpose for the person(s) he set in my path.  For example I was at Barnes & Noble this summer with Two of my nieces and I decided I was going to peruse the christian book section.  I saw a young woman looking at the bibles and felt a call to ask if she needed help but I talked myself out of it.  I said, "No, I don't think she needs help.  I am sure she knows what she is looking for" so I went about my business and looked at the books.  They didn't have a big selection so I headed back to my nieces.  I helped my oldest niece pick a book that was "somewhat" appropriate when I felt like I should go look at the books again and so we began walking towards the christian book section when that exact young woman who was looking at the bibles approaches me.  She started with, "excuse me, are you a christian?'  I knew at that moment that God had called me to talk to her and I ignored him and he said no you are going to help her.  I felt like a fool!  But I ended up helping her pick out some books and have maintained communication with her and she is growing in christ.

These quotes are quotes I continuously go to for encouragement.

I hope you are having a lovely Monday

10 more days left in September and I am not ready for this years blog-tember challenge to end because I'll have to actually think about the subject of my posts and not rely on a prompts.

September 20: It's guilty pleasure time! Shows, books, songs, foods, whatever it may be.

Brave Love Blog

What is or what are my guilty pleasures?

None!!! I don't fall into habits that I know are not good for me to be listening to, reading or watching eating and all in all not benefiting me at all.

Just kidding!  I definitely have a guilty pleasure and I am not proud of it whatsoever.  It is so bad I don't even want to tell you. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Ok, ok, I'll tell you but you cannot tell my dietician and Dialysis nurse ok?  Haha... Ok, so... I sometimes eat foods I am not supposed to eat but don't worry too much I make sure to double up on my phosphorus binders which help reduce the amount of phosphorus that remains in the body.  I  sometimes eat pizza and dark soda!  Those are two foods that are high in phosphorus and it is recommended that I stay away but it can be hard.  Also fruit!  It is so hard to stay away from fruit and though it may not contain as much phosphorus fruit can be high in potassium and too much is not good on the body.  I don't indulge in these guilty pleasures often just from time to time when I really cannot resist and when I do I am very cautious in making sure that I take the necessary medicine to make sure it doesn't affect me badly.  I can say with all honesty that my labs always come out looking good and my numbers are not high.  I am glad that I am able to manage my medication well enough to indulge every once in a while.

As for other guilty pleasures hmmm... as of right now other then the food guilty pleasure there really isn't anything else.  It is all about FOOD people!  Hahaha...

I hope you have a beautiful Sunday
